Format
The youth tournament will be either pool play or
double elimination depending on the number of teams entered. Each team is
guaranteed three
games.
Umpire
Requirements
The Iowa Games is
successful only
through the efforts
of its volunteers.
Each team is
required to provide
certified
individuals to
assist with
umpiring. Teams that are
unable to find a
certified umpire
that is willing to
work four games
during the
tournament should
contact the
commissioner.
Rules
2010 Amateur Softball Association of America
(A.S.A.) rules will apply. YOUTH - 10 & Under 35' pitching
distance, 12 & 14 & Under 40' pitching distance; 60'
bases. All games
will use the official A.S.A. ball (yellow). Click here for

Roster/Changes

A player may play on only one team. New players and/or replacement
players must complete an
Individual
Entry Form and the waiver must be signed by a parent or
legal guardian (for athletes under the age of 18). For replacement
players, please indicate which player they are replacing.
Roster limits will be enforced.

Entry Process
All divisions are based upon first-postmark,
first-filled. Slots cannot be held. Should a team wish to
drop out because of advancement to another tournament, NO
REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. It is the team's responsibility
to participate. Teams in excess of the maximum will be placed
on a waiting list. Divisions may be expanded if time and field
space are available.
Age Determining
Date, Youth
A player's age as of Dec. 31 determines the
age in which the player is eligible to play the following
year.
A player 10 or
younger on Dec.
31, 2009 is eligible
to play.
A player 12 or
younger on Dec.
31, 2009 is eligible
to play.
A player 14 or
younger on Dec.
31, 2009 is eligible
to play.
Uniforms
Uniform rule will not be enforced. Similar
colored shirts with numbers are encouraged.
Equipment
Players are responsible for their own
equipment. Batting Helmets/Face Guards: Please note the A.S.A.
helmet/face guard
rule will be
strictly enforced. Game balls will be provided.
Eligibility
All teams must be
2010 A.S.A. registered.
When registering for
the Iowa Games teams
must use their
A.S.A. team name. The A.S.A. registration fee is $26 plus $6.00 postage fee
for mailing (total fee of $32.00) per team. Please include
the
A.S.A registration
form. Mail the A.S.A.
registration fee to Tom Topping, Iowa A.S.A., 1534 Penrose
St., Grinnell, IA 50112. To speed your team's
registration, please
print off the
A.S.A. registration
form and mail
with your fee.
