Time

Packet Pickup:

Saturday 3 - 6 pm (Timing chips will only be available on Sunday)
Sunday 6:00 - 7:30 am (packet pickup will close at 7:30 am sharp)

Transition area open from 6:00 - 7:45 am on Sunday morning.

Mandatory pre-race meeting at the swim start area at 7:45 am.

Competition: Begins at 8:00 am

Competition Information

General Information

Driving directions and a course description will be available on this Web site and will NOT be mailed to participants.  This is an open course event, meaning that participants must share the road with traffic. For safety, helmets must be worn during the cycling portion of the competition and no headphones/ipods will be allowed on any part of the course.  Participants should leave their running shoes in the second transition area.

Clydesdale

Open to all men weighing 195 pounds or more and all women weighing 145 pounds or more. Those entered in this division are not eligible for age group awards.  

Teams

Must be comprised of three individuals, with each member competing in one (1) phase of the competition only. Each team member must complete the appropriate information on the Team Entry Form and pay the $30.00 entry fee. The combined time of the three (3) members will determine the finish time for the team. The timing chip will be passed from one team member to another during transition.  Be sure to use a team event code from below on entry form.

Competition Format

Course will consist of the following:
Swim - Open water, distance of 1/4 mile
Bike - 13 miles
Run - 5K

Rules

Triathlon Federation USA Rules will be followed, with the right to make exceptions. Note: Helmets must be worn during the cycling portion of the competition. for safety reasons, no headphones/ipods etc. will be allowed on any part of the course

Friday, July 11.

Bib Numbers

Bib numbers and timing chips will be issued on-site during check-in on the day of competition.

T-shirt / Packet Pickup

On-site at Don Williams Lake, Ogden on Saturday from 3-6 pm and Sunday from 6 - 7:30 am.  The timing chips and bib numbers will only be available for pick up on Sunday.

Awards Ceremony

To be held following the running portion of the competition.

Directions From Ames

Take Highway 30 West to the Ogden Exit, #126. (About 20-25 miles) Go North (right) on P70, approx. 5 miles to Don Williams Park.

Course Description

SWIM:
The swimming portion of the triathlon will be counterclockwise. This starts at the dock near the dam. The total swimming distance is 1/4 mile. There is a boat holding the nylon swimming rope which has milk jugs attached every 7 feet. Boone search and rescue will provide assistance to swimmers in case of a problem; they will have 2 or 3 vessels available.

BIKE:
The biking portion of the triathlon starts at the first transition area and goes towards the park entrance. At the park entrance turn right (north) and go ~6.25 miles on county road P70, there will be marks and people at the end of the bike turn around. Complete a 180 degree turn on the black top (P70), and return to the park. Dismount bikes carefully at the bike-run transition area which will be the same transition area as swim-bike.

RUN:
The running portion of the triathlon starts at the bike-run transition area. There is a water aid available at the beginning of the run. Run towards the swimming beach area of the park which is an approximate mile after passing the dam. The turn-around is located at the parking lot of the swimming beach area; there will be more water available at the location. Run to the finish line at the shelter house.
