The Iowa Games formally is opened for
competition with the Opening Ceremony on Friday night. This event
is an exciting way for the whole family to share in the spectacle
and pageantry of the Games.
The Opening Ceremony will be at the Dubuque Five Flags Center on
Friday, January 29, 2010, starting at 7 pm. There is no admission
charge!
Highlights of the evening include the parade of athletes, entertainment,
arrival of the Olympic-style torch, athletes' oath, parents' and
coaches' oath, fireworks and more. The Parade of Athletes will begin
lining up at 6:45 pm on the ballroom side of the blue wall.
Family Fun Fest is
slated for Friday, January 29, 2010 from 5-6:30 pm in the ballroom
of the Dubuque Five Flags Center. The event is right before
the Opening Ceremony, so plan to experience a full night of
family fun! Kids' activities will include inflatable games.
All this fun and there is no admission fee!
